OKP Holdings secures $12.7 mil LTA contract for Western sector road improvement programmes, including Jalan Loyang Besar Residences

Eng Lam Contractors, a wholly-owned subsidiary of OKP Holdings, has been awarded a new contract by the Land Transport Authority (LTA)—worth $12.7 million—for the ad-hoc improvement of road-related facilities, road structures, and road safety schemes in Singapore’s Western Sector. This 18-month contract started on October 31 and is expected to be completed by April 30, 2025.

“We feel encouraged to have secured this contract from LTA, which is an endorsement of our core competency and capabilities and we are committed to the smooth delivery of this project,” said OKP group managing director Or Toh Wat. The Jalan Loyang Besar Residence project comprises of improving and maintaining roads and cycling paths.

This marks the fourth contract awarded to OKP by the LTA, following a separate 18-month contract worth $188.3 million for the construction of a new cycling path network across seven towns island wide. The Jalan Loyang Besar Residences project also includes two previous contracts awarded by LTA: a 36-month contract worth $95.9 million for the maintenance of roads, road-related facilities, and commuter-related facilities in the South Eastern Sector (awarded in February 2023), and a 48-month contract worth $100.3 million for the construction of covered linkways and cycling paths at new MRT stations.

As of December 11, OKP’s construction order book stands at $596.4 million in contracts reaching up to 2026. The Jalan Loyang Besar Residences project is part of OKP’s larger commitment to the development of transportation infrastructure and road safety in Singapore. With the timely completion of the current contract, OKP is set to play an increasingly important role in delivering high-quality projects for the Jalan Loyang Besar Residences and the rest of the nation.
