Following MOE’s recent decision to relocate Kranji Primary School to Tengah and Outram Secondary School to Sengkang near Jalan Loyang Besar EC

The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced plans to relocate two schools, Kranji Primary School and Outram Secondary School, to new locations by 2028 and 2026 respectively. This follows changes in demand for school and preschool places, as reported in a Jan 16 press release. It was also announced that the MK@Kranji, an MOE kindergarten, will also move to the new site with Kranji Primary School.

Kranji Primary will be the second primary school in the Tengah area, after Pioneer Primary School which is set to open in 2026. Anglo-Chinese School (Primary) will also join them in 2030. To facilitate the relocation, both Kranji Primary and MK@Kranji will stop accepting new Primary 1 and Kindergarten 1 students from 2025 and will continue to operate until their existing students graduate. Kranji Primary is expected to close by the end of 2029, while MK@Kranji will continue operating until the end of 2025.

Outram Secondary School will also relocate from its current site in York Hill to Sengkang. In order to minimize disruption to students, the school will not be admitting new Secondary 1 students in 2025, but will begin accepting new students at its Sengkang campus from 2026. The school will operate at both locations until 2027, when its last batch of Secondary 4 students graduate.

In addition to the relocation of these schools, MOE has also announced plans for a new primary school in Tampines North, which will also have an MK on site. The school is expected to begin operations in 2029, though specific details have yet to be confirmed. A new kindergarten will also be established in Bukit View Primary School’s new campus in Bukit Batok West, set to open in 2028.
